Many footsteps and various paths tell the story of our
1958-1959 year at Atlantic Christian College — to the dormi-
tories, to the dining hall, to the administration building, to
the classroom building, to the chapel — and for extra activi-
ties—to the fraternity houses, to the sorority house, to
various athletic events, to dances, to plays, to concerts, to
committee meetings . . . and on down other paths. The
Pine Knot recalls the footsteps and paths which make
Atlantic Christian College such a unique and endearing
place to our hearts.

DEDICATION

The 1959 Pine Knot is dedicated to a most
deserving person. He helps to publish our
weekly newspaper and backs the publishing
of this yearbook. He is sports commentator
at our basketball games, goes on tour with
many representatives of A. C. C, and does
his part in building school spirit. With his
mind on all his many jobs he manages a
"hello" and calls many people by name.
From the students he has sincerely gained
the nickname "Pop." The 1959 Pine Knot
is, therefore, dedicated to Mr. James E.
Fulghum.

A great many persons working together in a wide range of
activities are a necessary prerequisite to a meaningful college
education. The contribution of each person, whether he be a
student, faculty or staff member, when fused with the contribu-
tions of the other members of our campus family determines
the end result.

I warmly commend all whose efforts have contributed to the
success of the 1958-59 college year which now joins the proces-
sion of memories of this and other years. Yours is now the
privilege of knowing that your contributions to the accomplish-
ment of this year have become one of the "permanent assets"
of our College.

I extend heartiest congratulations to members of the Pine
Knot staff and their advisors for recording in an attractive and
effective manner the persons and events which have made this
year a memorable one.

BASEBALL

The Atlantic Christian College Baseball Team
has not started its 1959 season as yet. We are
hoping for a successful season. Jack McComas
is the coach who sees our team through thick
and thin. The lineup will be different due to the
loss of some of the players who graduated, but
this loss can be made up by spirit and teamwork.

Every student on our campus is automatically a member of the Campus Christian Asso-
ciation. Every denomination has a representative on the cabinet and they work together
to make Christianity real to us. They try to keep our days and years at A. C. from being
a vacation from God. This group works in the background rather than in the fore-
ground.

MEDITATIONS

We have traveled along many paths to complete
this book to present to the A. C. family. We hope
that you will enjoy it and that it will bring back
many happy memories to you.

Special thanks go to our advisors, Mr. Arnold and
Mr. Swain, for their help and to Mr. Fulghum for
listening to our endless gripes. To Joseph Phelps of
Edwards & Broughton Company — thanks for your
patience.

Thanks to the staff for their hard work and may
we say "Best of luck" to the staff of the 1960 Pine
